For those of you who are not familiar with this game, let’s begin by saying a few words about it. Traffic Racer is a milestone in the genre of endless arcade racing, and one of the most popular games for Tablets and Smartphones. It can be downloaded as a free Android App on Google Play or can be bought for $0.99 on iTunes.
It features some great 3D graphics, smooth and realistic car handling, 19 real cars to choose from (including famous brands like Audi, BMW, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes or Range Rover) and 4 detailed environments.
And now let’s get back to the tips on how to make more money in Traffic Racer:
1. Watch Video Ads
Believe it or not, this is the simplest and quickest method to get more cash. In the left upper side of the screen you have the “Free Cash” button and there you have 3 options. You can like their Facebook page for 1,000 cash, follow them on Twitter for another 1,000 or watch a video for 500 cash. While the first 2 actions can be done only once, you can watch an unlimited number of video ads.
Considering that a video lasts for just 15 seconds and you instantly get 500 cash, this is definitely the easiest method. But after a while you may get tired of watching the same videos (as there are just a few ads that are repeating), so here are some in-game tips for more cash.
2. Go for Speed and Distance, Not Overtakes
You may initially be tempted to do a lot of close overtakes, as these will give you the most points. Yes you will have a very high score, but this doesn’t also mean you will make more cash! The money you get on close overtakes are insignificant compared to those you get for driving above 100 kmh for as long as possible, for driving a longer distance and for driving on the opposite lane.

3. Play the Endless Two-Way Mode
Yes, this is the most difficult mode to play but you will also make more money, especially when you drive in the opposite direction. So keep your speed just slightly above 80 kmh and try to drive on the opposite lane for as long as possible. Of course, it’s ok to get on the first lane too and drive a longer distance and try to go over 100 kmh.
These 3 actions combined will give you the most money in the shortest amount of time, compared to playing the Endless One-Way or the Time Trial modes. As you may already figured it out, the Freeride mode does not provide you with any points or money.
4. Change Steering and Acceleration
It may be really fun to steer by tilting your phone or tablet, but this is not very productive when it comes to making more cash. The combination I found to be the most effective is the Steering – Touch and Acceleration – Auto. This will allow you to have a more precise steering and you won’t need to worry about the acceleration anymore. Of course, you still need to use the break from time to time, especially if you have a fast car.
5. Be Patient
No thing worth having comes easy in life, and it’s the same in Traffic Racer. In order to get the 145,000 BMW or the 175,000 Range Rover, you need to have A LOT of patience and to play the game as much as possible. Play it every day whenever you get the chance and you will eventually make enough cash to get the most expensive cars.
BONUS TIP: Do not spend the cash you earned on useless stuff like new colors, wheels or environments. Instead, spend them on upgrades! This will improve your car and will allow you to eventually make more cash and buy better cars.
